Circa Chat ("Circa," "we," "us," or "our") respects the intellectual property rights of others and expects everyone who uses the Service to do the same. This page explains how to report content you believe infringes your copyright, and what happens after you do.

How to send a takedown notice

If you believe content on Circa infringes your copyright, send a written notice to our designated agent at copyright@circa.chat. To be effective, your notice must include:

• Your name, mailing address, telephone number, and email address.
• A description of the copyrighted work you believe was infringed.
• The specific location of the material on Circa (a link, screenshot, username, or other information sufficient for us to find it).
• A statement that you have a good-faith belief the use of the material is not authorized by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law.
• A statement, made under penalty of perjury, that the information in your notice is accurate and that you are the copyright owner or authorized to act on the owner's behalf.
• Your physical or electronic signature.

A notice missing any of the above may take longer for us to act on, or may not qualify as a valid takedown notice.

What happens after we receive a valid notice

We will review the notice and, where it is valid and the material is still on the Service, remove or disable access to it. We will make a reasonable effort to notify the person who posted the material that it was removed and why.

Counter-notice

If you believe your content was removed by mistake or misidentification, you may send a counter-notice to copyright@circa.chat with your contact information, identification of the removed material and where it appeared before removal, a statement under penalty of perjury that you have a good-faith belief the material was removed in error, and a statement that you consent to the jurisdiction of the federal court in your district (or, if outside the U.S., any judicial district in which Circa may be found) and will accept service of process from the person who filed the original notice.

Repeat infringers

Circa terminates, in appropriate circumstances, the accounts of users who are repeat infringers. We keep an internal record of takedowns tied to each account for this purpose.
